Following fantastic reviews from recent volunteers to the “Living with Lions” project in South Africa, Amanzi Travel is delighted to announce its support for a new sister project, also in South Africa, “Living with Cheetahs”.
This is an incredible project located in KwaZulu-Natal – home to the Big 5 – that aims to breed and rehabilitate cheetahs back into the wild to help prevent the decline of these lovely Big Cats.
Living with Cheetahs is the most successful breeding project in all of South Africa and it is good to know that none of the newly bred cubs will be released to zoos or other facilities – just released into the African wilderness where they belong. Thirteen healthy cubs have been bred in the past twenty-eight months which is a tribute to the excellent breeding methods used.
Volunteers play a vital role in helping to save the endangered cheetah by getting actively involved in the daily routine – with lots of interaction with the animals – as well as enjoying some free time to explore this exciting part of South Africa.
